Just another ATC and Fabric Postcard post!

Last week I got 5 more postcards done for my swap! I named the series Buttons and Bows. I am just finally getting to posting it!! I loved the fabric but never got around to doing anything with it. This was 7 years ago! I finally figures what to do with it!

And I have some more ATC up for swap 3 are taken already by 3 of flist that don't even know it yet...lol That would be [info]hardhatcat[info]ofenjenand [info]dragonsinger954. So that means I have 3 more up for trade. They are called "the good ole' days" as when [info]ofenjenmade a reference when you could get HP merchandise anywhere...lol I so love that reference....lol

HP ATC )

I also finished my ATC for the HP_crafter swap!  I made 16 of them and have 4 left over to share to! I worked so hard on these and everything has a meaning to it. The theme is your favorite HP family.

The back ground of each one is patched together with all my tiny scraps of left over fabric, this is represents the family and how they also make do with what they have. I can imagine Molly making a quilt like this for her family. Then is the mailbox represents Author's love of muggle things, notice that it has flowers growing out of it. Some how it got charmed....lol And the star represent all the magic around the family. And the stitching around the edge around the ATC is red and yellow for the Gryffindor house colors and how each family member was in Gryffindor! I loved making these! They were so much fine and time consuming! I have 4 left if you wanna trade!

Problem Fixed!!

Ok so I was sewing and had the window open and I could here some weird stuff. so I turned off the tv and I heard a bebe hit the house right by the other window. So I told my hubby and he called the police. They came over and looked and saw the damage and said the only way for that window to be busted was from their yard. So he went over and talked to them them see how to work it out. He went to see if they would admit it or not. They did and after the police left the boy and his mom came over to aplogize and said they did know it happened. So my husband and I agree to split the cost with them because it was an accident and they fessed up and were willing to pay. They were willing to pay it all but hubby told me when he was kid he shot out the neighbor's window too and had the police called on him. So we are going to just go to the home depot and check out window. he said he doesn't know how to install himself so we are going to have to do that too.  i am so glad he delt with it!! I was a total pyscho today!! I was so upset and not happy....lol. The kids kept getting to stuff! Thanks for all the advise!! I am so glad I have a great flist list!!

Fabric ART!!

I finished another series of ATC last night! I finally wrote on the back of them. I couldn't think of a clever name, *BlaH* The reason I made these is this...One of the quilters in my group, (the same one that got me into ATC) had some scrap fabric she has a 6in x6 in fabric from something she made her son. It was so cute but I had no idea at the time what the heck to do with it. Now I realized i saved it from the thrift shop for a reason I made these cards out of that little piece of fabric! It is called Vintage baby boy...i know so genertic but I couldn't think of anything clever enough! I think these are so sweet. There will be 3 up for grabs.

Here is my first attempt at a post card before I even started ATC. It was also my first time trying at free motion sewing

And the swap I am in at www.art2mail.com has offically been filled! I made a sweet post card. Not sure if I will use it but it was fun to do!

The last time I went to my quilter group they had been showing off their quilted ATC's (artist trading cards) and quilted postcards!! I fell in love! But I had non to swap with!! I was quite sad....lol Then one of the quilters there loves to wool like me. I mentioned that I could cut some squares for her because I have a huge tupperware box full of sweaters all cut up and ready to go. So Friday I go to the mail box and she sent me a fabric post card!! I am so in love!! they are so cool!!

So I was wondering if any of my flist would like to do a swap? This is a great way to use fabric that you love without making a whole blanket.
Here are some great links for how to do it!!

You Are a Comma

You are open minded and extremely optimistic.

You enjoy almost all facets of life. You can find the good in almost anything.

You keep yourself busy with tons of friends, activities, and interests.

You find it hard to turn down an opportunity, even if you are pressed for time.

Your friends find you fascinating, charming, and easy to talk to.

(But with so many competing interests, you friends do feel like you hardly have time for them.)

You know you are from Kenosha when....

...your last name is Tenuta, Ruffolo, DeBartolo or some other overly-Italian name.

...you were the coolest kid in elementary school because you always scored the most goals in your K.A.S.L. games.

...you know that rush hour begins at 3:30pm, not 5 or 6.

...you can walk into SuperValu on 80th Street (or some similar grocery store), and you recognize at least 5 people within 5 minutes.

...the last 5 generations of your family are from Kenosha.

...your family is Italian, is related to Italians, or owes money to Italians.

...when you say that there's nothing to do, you couldn't be more right.

...you know what a "bubbler" is, and you make fun of people from Milwaukee for saying it.

...you're not home at 4am because you're either at IHOP, Marina Gardens, or Miraz.

...you've seen every Block Buster movie on opening day three times because it was too cold to hang out by the lake.

...you've seen the Food Network special on Frank's every time that it has aired.

...you remember when George Bush came to town, and the entire city shut down.

...you've been pulled over for something extremely stupid by a cop who was probably bored.

...you joke about wearing a bullet-proof vest if you're going to Milwaukee, Racine, or Waukegan.

...you know what "F.I.B." means.

...a Packers-Bears game splits your family down the middle.

...you've always rooted for the Bulls because the Bucks have never been very good.

...you watch the Milwaukee news at 5 and the Chicago news at 6.

...at least 2 of your family members have worked at Chrysler/AMC.

...you don't even think twice about the drive-thru liquor store that you just passed.

...you're shocked when you visit other places, and you find out that there are more cable companies than just Time Warner.

...you know every road around I-94 because your grandma is too afraid to drive on the highway.

...you're not Italian, but you joke that you're one twelfth Italian by association.

...the only time you've ever seen more than 50 people in place is when the new Harry Potter book or the new Star Wars movie comes out.

...you can't believe how bad other student musicians your own age are.

...you've spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out how they connected Simmons Island to the mainland.

...you're shocked to realize nobody else in the state knows the Empire Carpet jingle.

...you hold a completely irrational prejudice against people from Illinois, but both your parents work for Abbott Labs.

...you actually recognize the names of places in "That 70's Show".

...you know that the Bong Recreation Area sign is one of the top-10 most stolen signs in America.

...you hate it when people drive down by the lighthouse for 10 seconds and leave, but you do it too.

...you never understood why we have a 1 1/2 mile trolley system that goes absolutely no where.

...you've taken part in more than one illegal activity at pets.

...if you know someone you never hang out with its because you used to play football or baseball together when you were 9.

...you've experienced 90 degrees and humid at 60th St & 22nd Ave and 65 degrees and chilly at 60th St & 7th Ave in the 3 minutes it took you to drive the distance.

...beyond I94 is considered the western frontier and you rarely travel past it unless your going to congo river or action territory, that's ok then.

...you don't understand why there  are 75 elementary schools (most of which you've never heard of) and only 3 high schools

...life after bradford, tremper or Indian Trail Academy usually means Milwaukee, Whitewater or Madison.

...White Caps was the place where the "rich" people lived until you realized the houses there sucked too.

...Big Star is better than Spot, or Spot is better than Big Star. which side are you on?

...you're high school charges $50 a semester for parking passes due to being overcrowded, and half the lot is still empty.

...you know which blocks, not areas, are the "ghetto" ones and which ones aren't.

...you're still waiting for that casino to be built because the dog track sucks and no one goes there anyway.

...you're grandparents remember when the house your friend lives in was still farmland, and so do you, because it was only 10 years ago.

...crossing over 75th St is like crossing enemy lines. "you're in Bradford/Tremper territory now boy. (insert redneck accent here)"

...you went crazy for the brand new trendy food place (Starbucks / Coldstone / Panera / Chipotle / Qdoba / Jimmy Johns, etc.)...about 5 years after the rest of the country did.
